Vasily Gerasimov took part in the XIХ session of the Council of SAIs Heads of the CIS Member States



Chairman of the State Control Committee of Belarus Vasily Gerasimov took part in the XIХ session of the Council of SAIs Heads of the CIS Member States (Council). The event took place on March 26, 2021 via video conference.
The participants discussed the SAIs role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The issues of auditing the achievement of the SDGs at the current stage and after the end of the pandemic were considered.
The SAIs Heads of the CIS member states shared the national experience and methods used for the SDGs audit.
In his report, Vasily Gerasimov noted that the model of socio-economic development of Belarus presupposes the implementation of the SDGs, taking into account national interests, economic and socio-political characteristics.
The State Control Committee of Belarus analyzes the implementation of the SDGs through the prism of control and audit of the implementation of state and regional programs in the fields of the agro-industrial complex, demographic security, environmental protection, the use of natural resources, housing construction, forestry, etc.
The Chairman of Belarus SAI informed the Council members on the participation of the State Control Committee in international parallel control activities and audits of the effectiveness of achieving the SDGs.
At the meeting, information was presented on the activities of the Working Group on the development of standards for state financial control, the Council work plan for the period between the XIX and XX sessions was approved.
The Council members approved the joining the Accounts Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Council.
