The officials and staff of the State Control Committee took part in commemorative events dedicated to the Khatyn tragedy

Vasily Gerasimov, Chairman of the State Control Committee, and the employees of the State Control Committee laid flowers at the bronze sculpture of the "Unconquered Man" and the mass grave of the "Vein of Remembrance". The victims of the Khatyn tragedy were honoured with a minute of silence.

In Belarus, today people pay tribute to the inhabitants of the village of Khatyn, which was burnt down by the Nazis 81 years ago - on 22 March 1943. Remembering Khatyn, Belarusians recall thousands of other Belarusian villages destroyed by Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War.

The Hitlerites burnt the village of Khatyn together with 149 inhabitants, 75 of whom were children. The fascists passed a death sentence on innocent people.

The Khatyn memorial complex was created on the place of the village in memory of the victims. The grand opening of the complex was on 5 July 1969. On 22 March 2023, the exposition of the new Museum of the Memory of the Victims of the Belarusian People during the Great Patriotic War was opened in the memorial complex.
