On Knowledge Day, the Head of the State Control Committee visited Dobromyslenska secondary school in Ivatsevichy district, where 42 schoolchildren study. Many children are brought from neighbouring villages. There is also a kindergarten here, equipped with playrooms, bedrooms and playgrounds.
Though the school is small, but it has its own historical and local history museum, a club of connoisseurs, sports sections are also developed: pupils of the school annually become winners of Olympiads and sports competitions. The children are taught in the Belarusian language. A workshop for technical labour and an informatics room help in the school process.
In the near future the school will receive a new set of furniture. And from today teachers and children will be able to use a large-format LCD TV of domestic production, purchased at the expense of the State Control Committee. Vasily Gerasimov presented the gift to the school at the ceremony.
Much was said about peace, creation and labour at the first lesson. Its theme was "Belarus and Me - the Dialogue of Peace and Creation". What should be done to preserve what has been achieved and make our country even better? The pupils were looking for answers to these questions. The children not only answered the questions, but also actively asked them to Vasily Gerasimov. About new productions in the country, relatives who defended our Motherland during the war, and even school hobbies of the SCC Chairman.
The school pays special attention to the civic and military-patriotic education of pupils. The school cell of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union and the Pioneer Organization play a big role. For particular example, the children, together with their teachers and parents, carry out search work. The work on improvement of the burial places of the participants of the Great Patriotic War, assistance to the elderly and lonely fellow villagers was organized. The exhibition "Genocide of the Belarusian people. No Statute of Limitations".
The visit of the SCC head to the rural school was not without a detailed study of the educational facilities. Vasiliy Gerasimov inspected the classrooms, the gym and the canteen. There were some shortcomings. Especially it concerns the territory of the school: fences, pavements, asphalt covering. Within the nearest time the shortcomings should be eliminated.
Before the solemn ceremony Vasiliy Gerasimov together with teachers and students of Dobromyslenska secondary school laid flowers at the memorial to the countrymen who died in the Great Patriotic War in the village of Dobromysl and honoured their memory with a minute of silence.
