Representatives of the State Control Committee of Belarus took part in an online webinar of the Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions of Economic Cooperation Countries (ECOSAI).
The topic "Transformation of public sector audit through digitalisation" was discussed in the videoconference format.
Representatives of the Supreme Audit Institution of Pakistan shared their experience in implementing the Project on the Creation of an Information System for Audit Organisation. The project is aimed at improving public finance management through automation (digitisation) of all audit processes and improving quality at each stage of the audit process by introducing a quality control system.
The main objective of this project is to create a computerized system for organizing audits covering all stages including planning, monitoring and reporting.
The use of the information product, according to SAI of Pakistan, will increase transparency, accuracy and efficiency in planning, auditing and follow-up. Analysis of data through the software will provide insights into the audited organisations and the risk areas thus identified will help in defining audit objectives and scope.
Participants of the webinar discussed the advantages of introducing information technology in the field of audit and shared their experience of using such systems in their countries.
