Representatives of the Financial Monitoring Department of the State Control Committee took part in the 27th Egmont Group Plenary Meeting and working groups meetings, which were held via video conference.
Among the Plenary participants were representatives of the Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs) of the member countries and observers, Egmont Group Secretariat.
Seminars and webinars on relevant topics were organized for participants. Thus, the participants of the webinars shared their experience of introducing a risk-based approach in FIU activities, FIU participation in conducting a national risk assessment, combating trafficking in persons, and also presented practical developments within the framework of a project to combat child sexual exploitation on the Internet.
The importance of the Egmont Group Best Case project was noted at the Plenary. At present, a digest of materials of 26 cases is being prepared for publication, including one case submitted by the Republic of Belarus. In total, 117 cases were sent to the competition in 2014-2020.
The meeting of the working group on policies and procedures reviewed and finalized the Egmont Group fundamental documents. Among the issues for discussion were the main requirements for FIUs - members of the Egmont Group.
