Topical issues related to the work of the livestock industry and preparation for the sowing campaign were discussed on 14 February 2024 at an extended meeting attended by the top officials of the Council of Ministers, the State Control Committee, the Prosecutor General's Office, the National Statistics Committee and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. Chairman of the State Control Committee Vasyl Gerasimov took part in the event.
The issues related to the implementation of the plan of joint actions of the Government and the State Control Committee to eliminate the causes and conditions contributing to the unproductive loss of cattle were discussed at the meeting. Representatives of some regional executive committees, as well as heads of district executive committees were briefed.
Preparation for spring sowing was also reviewed. Particular attention was paid to the pace of tractor and agricultural machinery preparation for spring field work, accumulation of mineral fertilisers and crop seeds by farms.
Melioration is one more important issue. The course of fulfilment of the Head of State's assignment in this direction has been considered.
Suggestions have been worked out on all the considered issues to rectify the situation and eliminate shortcomings. The State Control Committee is to continue monitoring the situation in livestock farming and the preparation of farms for spring sowing.
