Delegations of the Committee of State Control, headed by the Chairman Leonid Anfimov, took part in the XXII Congress of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INCOSAI), which was held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from 5 to 11 December 2016.
The following themes were discussed by the participants:
How INTOSAI can contribute to the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, including good governance and strengthening the fight against corruption?
Professionalization: what can promote INTOSAI's credibility to become a more prominent international organization?
Discussing the topic "Professionalization", all participants pointed out that SAIs should be aimed at improving their skills and competence.
At the Congress the heads of INTOSAI regional organizations (AFROSAI, ARABOSAI, ASOSAI, CAROSAI, EUROSAI, OLACEFS and PASAI) presented the reports of its activity. The heads of INTOSAI working groups and task forces also presented the information on their work. In particular, it was decided to continue the activity of the INTOSAI task force on procurement contract audit which was transformed in the INTOSAI working group. SAI of Belarus is a member of this working group.
During the Congress, Chairman of the Committee of State Control of Belarus Leonid Anfimov held a number of bilateral meetings with the heads of the foreign SAIs, during which the Parties discussed perspective directions of mutual cooperation.
The Congress finished its work with the adoption of a number of documents, including a new edition of Statutes of INTOSAI, Strategic plan of INTOSAI for 2017-2022, Abu-Dhabi Declaration.
For next 3 years the chairmanship in the INTOSAI passed from SAI of China to SAI of UAE. It was also decided that the next XXIII Congress of INTOSAI will be held in 2019 in the Russian Federation (Moscow).

The Congress of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) was attended by representatives of the SAIs of 163 countries of the world (more than 600 delegates). The Congress was also attended by representatives of such international organizations as World Bank, Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), United Nations (UN), International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
