First Deputy Chairman of the State Control Committee of Belarus Ivan Romanovich attended the 23rd Symposium of the United Nations and the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), which was held in Vienna, Austria, on 2-4 March 2015.
Symposium was focused on the role of SAIs in carrying out audits in the area of sustainable development as well as the possibilities of SAIs to promote and strengthen sustainable development.
Participants shared their experiences on how to improve transparency and accountability in the use of budget funds, as well as the promotion of national financial stability, discussed the role of Supreme Audit Institutions and Means of Implementation for Sustainable Development.
Symposium was attended by delegations of SAIs of more than 70 states as well as representatives of international organizations. Last day the participants approved final document – Conclusions and Recommendations of Symposium.
UN/INTOSAI Symposium is one of the most significant events of the INTOSAI. This event takes place in Vienna, Austria, every two years.
