Delegation of the Financial Monitoring Department of the State Control Committee of Belarus took part in the 3rd meeting of the Council of Heads of FIUs of the CIS member states


Third meeting of the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs) of the CIS member states chaired by Alexander Maksimenko, Director of the Financial Monitoring Department of the State Control Committee of Belarus was held in Moscow.
The event was attended by delegations from six countries that signed the agreement on the establishment of Council - Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Anti-Terrorist Center of CIS member states, the Council of CIS Border Troops Commanders, Bureau for coordination of the fight against organized crime and other dangerous crimes on the territory of CIS member states, CIS Executive Committee and autonomous nonprofit organization "International Training Center of Financial Monitoring".
Heads of FIUs of the CIS member states approved the developed Concept of cooperation, discussed the creation of a system of information exchange between FIUs of the CIS member states, as well as details of operational cooperation. The participants of the meeting approved Plan for implementation of the programs of cooperation of CIS member states in the fight against crime, terrorism and drug trafficking.
On behalf of the Council Alexander Maksimenko, Director of the Financial Monitoring Department of the State Control Committee of Belarus signed Protocols on cooperation with Anti-Terrorist Center of CIS member states, the Council of CIS Border Troops Commanders, Bureau for coordination of the fight against organized crime and other dangerous crimes on the territory of CIS member states.
At the meeting the chairmanship in the Council passed over from Belarus to Kyrgyz Republic. According to the Regulations of the Council the heads of FIUs of Belarus and Russia became co-chairmen.
During the plenary session of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing the representatives of Kazakhstan informed the participants about the completion of internal procedures for the entry into force of the Agreement on the establishment of the Council of Heads of FIUs of the CIS member states.
