2 August - Day of Establishment of the State Control Bodies of the Republic of Belarus

Today marks the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the state control bodies of the Republic of Belarus.

On this day in 1994 the Control Service of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus was established (in 1995 it was transformed into the Control Service of the President of the Republic of Belarus). The legal successor of the first presidential control body is the State Control Committee established in 1996 by the Decree of the Head of State.

Today the State Control Committee is the supreme body of financial control of our country. The main task of the agency is to ensure the economic security of the state, control over the execution of the republican budget and the use of state property. These tasks are stipulated in the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus.

Proceeding from these tasks, as well as the challenges of today, the activities of the State Control Committee are focused on compliance with the budget legislation, control over the fulfilment of the instructions of the Head of State, aimed at overcoming the consequences of external pressure and reducing costs in all sectors of the national economy.
