Financial Monitoring Units of Belarus and Canada signed a Memorandum of Understanding

The Memorandum of Understanding between the Department of Financial Monitoring of the Committee of State Control of the Republic of Belarus and the Center for Analysis of Financial Operations and Reports of Canada was signed in the city of The Hague during the events of the Egmont Group Plenary Session. From the Belarusian side, the Memorandum was signed by Director of the Financial Monitoring Department Vyacheslav Reut, from the Canadian side - by the Director of the Center for Analysis of Financial Operations and Reports of Canada Nada Simaan.
The memorandum provides for the exchange of information related to the legalization of proceeds from crime and the financing of terrorist activities. The document entered into force upon signature.
Until now, the cooperation of the financial monitoring units of Belarus and Canada has been limited due to the absence of such an agreement.
