The XXIV Congress of the International Institutions of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) is taking place in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) from 7 to 11 November, with the participation of delegations from the supreme audit institutions (SAI) as well as representatives of international organizations. Chairman of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus Vasily Gerasimov participates in the XXIV INCOSAI in an online format. The Congress is the highest body of INTOSAI and is convened every three years to discuss the most relevant issues of common professional interest and to take decisions related to INTOSAI. Today, within the framework of the Congress, a formal opening ceremony was held, as well as the first general plenary session, during which presentations were made by the Secretary-General of INTOSAI, heads of INTOSAI regional organizations, INTOSAI auditors. In the coming days, the main themes will be discussed during the plenary session of the Congress: «The Role of Supreme Audit Institutions in Emergency Situations» and «Global voice, global outcome, far-reaching impact». Panel discussions and reports from INTOSAI committees will also take place. The final Declaration will be adopted at the end of the Congress. INTOSAI is an international organization that brings together the supreme audit institutions of 196 countries worldwide. It has special status with the UN Economic and Social Council. The organization was founded in 1953 to provide mutual support to SAIs of member states; to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience; to set standards for public sector auditing; to support the development of SAI capacity, their cooperation and continuous improvement of efficiency. From 2019 to 2022, Chamber of Accounts of Russian Federation serves as a President of the Governing Council of INTOSAI. All news
