On August 5, 2021, employees of the financial investigations bodies of the State Control Committee took an oath of loyalty to the Republic of Belarus and its people. The ceremony took place at the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War. The solemn event is timed to coincide with the 29th anniversary of the founding of the financial investigation bodies.
On August 5, 1992, the Tax Investigation Department was created in the Main State Tax Inspectorate of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus, which became the ancestor of the current system of financial investigation bodies.
Over the years, the financial investigation bodies have developed effective methods of combating economic and corruption crimes. The main efforts of employees of the financial police are focused on preventing offenses in the economic sphere, eliminating the causes and conditions that contribute to their commission.
So, in the first half of this year, the Financial Investigations Department of the State Control Committee revealed 248 crimes, more than half of them (56.4%) were grave. Based on the results of financial investigations bodies activities 61.1 million rubles were transferred to the budget.
Currently, the priority areas of the financial investigations bodies activities are the identification and suppression of large-scale criminal economic and corruption schemes, countering the payment of wages "in envelope" and unreasonable mediation, control over the use of budget funds allocated for the implementation of measures of state programs and large investment projects.
