Director of the Financial Monitoring Department of the State Control Committee of Belarus Alexander Maksimenko and Finance Minister of Turkmenistan Annamuhammet Gochiyev signed an agreement on cooperation against legalization of proceeds from crime and terrorism financing. The two sides expressed confidence that the implementation of the document would facilitate the exchange of information on financial transactions related to money laundering and terrorism financing, experience in identifying such transactions as well as organization of joint seminars on typologies of money laundering and terrorist financing.

A delegation of the Financial Monitoring Department of the State Control Committee of Belarus headed by director Alexander Maksimenko took part in the 19th plenary session of EGMONT Group (an informal association of financial intelligence units from 127 countries) held in Yerevan (Armenia) on 11-15 July this year.The plenary week included the plenary session, meetings of the EGMONT Committee, heads of financial intelligence units, working groups, regional representatives.

Following a request by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus and the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation have carried out and prepared an audit opinion on the report of the Union State Council of Ministers on the execution of the Union State budget in 2009. This issue was discussed at the 39th session of the Union State Parliamentary Assembly that was held in Minsk on 8 June 2010.

The parties shared information on the final stages of the audit, on detected issues, the degree of completion and deadlines for providing information to prepare the final document. They voiced and discussed proposals on the form, structure and content of the final joint document, considered a draft joint decision and coordinated their further steps to prepare and sign the final document.

A representative of the State Control Committee delivered a report on the use of key national indicators in social and economic management and optimization of control activities. The session discussed organizational issues regarding the activities of the expert team: current problems and further development of the knowledge base on key national indicators, an opportunity to use them in auditing national and transnational projects and programs in the CIS, working towards methodological uniformity (comparability) of key national indicators in the CIS member states.

On 29 April 2011 a live satellite link-up was held between officials of the Financial Monitoring Department of the Belarusian State Control Committee and the Federal Financial Monitoring Service of Russia (Rosfinmonitoring). The parties discussed joint activities and cooperation within the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (EAG).
